Step 1: Apply Cleanser

First, use a cleanser or a cleansing oil to remove all the excess oil, makeup and grime that has been collecting on your face throughout the day. Do not put any products before removing the gunk or else you’ll break out into acne. Then, wash your face.

Step 2: Apply Toner

Toners are gentle hydrating products that prime or prepare your skin for the products you will apply to your skin. They are especially necessary for those with sensitive skin to help soothe their face and absorb all the moisturizer from the following steps.

Step 3: Use Face Serum

Serums are to be used sparingly. They are very different from moisturizing creams, so do not apply them the same way. Take a small drop on the palm of your hand and spread it across your face evenly, gently massaging it into your skin. That one tiny drop comes enriched with antioxidants, nutrients and hydrators to uplift your skin.

Step 4: Apply Eye Cream

Eye cream helps especially at night, because your body recovers most when you’re asleep. Apply eye cream gently on the bags under your eyes and be very gentle.

Step 5: Spot Treatment

If you have any scarring or spots, or would like to get rid of blemishes, using a spot cream for your night time skincare routine can do wonders. Just dab it onto the area you want to cover and leave it for a minute to dry.

Step 6: Finally, the Moisturizer

Use the moisturizer that suits your skin best. If you have extremely oily, dry or sensitive skin, ideally refer to a dermatologist to get yourself the best one for your face. Moisturizer is essential for your skin, so it needs to be included in your day and night skincare routine.

Step 7: Face Oils

Face oils lock in all the moisture and hydrating properties from the creams and serums you have applied before and help it absorb into your skin. It increases the efficacy of the products you use.

If you don’t have access to all the material listed out above, fret not. There is always a shortcut skincare routine that you can do. The three things you must never forget though, and never skip out on – your cleanser, toner, and moisturizer!
